German electronic music artist ATB recently announced that he will release his final studio album in 2025. With a career that includes a total of 10 studio albums and over 55 gold and platinum awards in numerous countries, he has always aimed to go the extra yard with his studio albums, routinely releasing double album projects that feature a disc aimed for the dancefloor and a separate disc curated for the comedown.

Dave Angel’s 'Revolt' EP on Rekids Special Projects is an intense offering with jolting drums and outspoken words. The title track, ‘Revolt’, brings subtle funk while the synths are imbued with plenty of Detroit-inspired soul that aims to light up the dancefloor. 'May I Have This Dance' shows a different side, with zippy lead synths amplifying the vibes as hunched, dubbed-out rhythms march down low and aim to keep you locked into the groove.

John and Shelby’s paths first crossed when he relocated Ms Merry’s ‘When Darkness Comes’ from its folk/country origins to 2022’s club floors. Since then, John and the Ohio-born/Nashville-based singer have stayed in contact, always contemplating a follow-up to the track, and the opportunity presented itself with the 10-year anniversary of Shelby’s ‘Young Guns’ album. A plan was hatched to reimagine one of his favourites from its number.
