It’s been a busy couple of months for Norman Doray. Coming off his largest North American tour in June, Norman launched right into the promo of his Size Records summer release ‘Celsius’ (with Eddie Thoenick) and played around the world; including dates in Ibiza and alongside Thomas Gold on Governors Island in New York City.
Morcheeba frontwoman Skye returns this autumn with her third solo record, ‘Back To Now’, released through PIAS on October 29. Production credits for the album, which is accompanied by lead single ‘Featherlight’, come from the Grammy Award winner Stephen Fitzmaurice (Paloma Faith, Metronomy and Professor Green). ‘Back To Now’ sees Skye on assured form in the follow up to 2009’s ‘Keeping Secrets’.
Almost four years after the release of ‘Free Cloud’, Perfect Stranger is back with his brand new artist album ‘Leap Of Faith’. Out now on Iboga Records, CD1 features all new original music from the man himself whilst CD2 features a selection of live versions, remixes and collaborations that have never been released before. Finally, CD3 is a special live recording from his performance at Israel’s Indigo Festival this summer.
The new series under the roof of the Audiolith label is growing slowly but steadily. Contemporary electronic club music is still in demand with its various genres ranging from deep to tech-house, from cosmic disco- to electro neo-trance and associated styles. You can hear these styles in the best clubs around the world and Krink was one of the first ones to explore these fields, followed by the likes of Rampue, Gimmix & Julei, Kalipo, Torsun Teichgräber and Marseille & Mendoza. They joined forces for a new 12“ package, including six tracks for the summer.
Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Steve Aoki and Angger Dimas’ new track was spawned from late night, long hour sessions aboard the iDeadmeat Bus during this summer’s tour, which created their brand new lovechild ‘Phat Brahms’. The track is a high-energy, big-room, dance floor production, what you’d expect from a varied pool of production talent, and has been getting great reactions wherever and whenever any one of the foursome dropped it in a set.
UK electronic duo Simian Mobile Disco is set to release ‘A Form Of Change’ on Tuesday, October 2 on Wichita Records. The four-song EP comes from the same recording sessions as their album ‘Unpatterns’, released earlier this year. The collection is another example of Simian Mobile Disco’s creativity, and their yen for refining and redefining the parameters of their own musical landscape, following Brian Eno’s maxim that “repetition is a form of change.”
On Friday October 19, Dutch record company Armada Music invites all clubbers to get a taste of the label with the official Armada Night ADE special taking place at the Passenger Terminal. The documentary ‘A Year With Armin van Buuren’ takes one year out of the life of the Dutch DJ. Shot during an important year, the result is a unique documentary that offers a rare look inside the life and personality of the world famous DJ/producer. On October 6 at 9.30pm CET, the documentary will be premiered worldwide via the YouTube channel of Dutch airline company KLM.

Azealia Banks releases her new single, ‘Esta Noche’, today through Polydor Records. The single is the lead track to be taken from Banks’ recently released 19 track ‘Fantasea’ mixtape. Banks will curate her own Mermaid Ball at the London Aquarium on October 13 and the event will feature an extra special performance from Azealia and also performances from several special guests throughout the evening.

The Holic Trax label returns with its third release, this time featuring Parisian Chris Carrier backed with a remix from Kate Simko. The Holic name has been associated with quality parties, both in London and Tokyo, for over five years now, but it was only at the beginning of 2012 that boss Tomoki Tamura decided to put the Holic Trax label together. The first two releases came from Mr G and Tuccillo and have seen support from the likes of Paul Woolford, Matt Edwards, Huxley, Efdemin and Clive Henry to name just a few.

Armin van Buuren has released his brand new compilation, ‘Universal Religion Chapter 6’. The mix-album, for which artist Joseph Klibansky created the artwork, was recorded live at club Privilege in Ibiza, where van Buuren has his own weekly residency. The latest edition of his ‘Universal Religion’ series, that has been running since 2003, has entered the Top 10 iTunes album chart in countries such as the US, Mexico, The Netherlands, Canada and Germany.

With anticipation growing for his third artist album, ‘Leap Of Faith’, which is released later this month on Iboga Records (Sept 25th), ‘Twist In Hell’ is the perfect taster to get you all pumped up for it.
‘Hotel Insomnia’ is the fifth album from UK producer Paul Mac and reveals the Essex based beatsmith’s most cohesive collection of tracks to date. As the title suggests, ‘Hotel Insomnia’ lives inside the blurred realm of sleepless nights, different hotel rooms and constant battle against jetlag. As Paul himself concurs, “mostly it's a reference to the DJ grind thing. Some of the tracks on the album began life as jams that were created in hotel rooms in various places when I should have been sleeping.”
