LA-based DJ/producer Durante shares the first remix from his debut album ‘Enter’, courtesy of electronic artist Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Originally from Oxford, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs made waves with his debut album ‘Trouble’ in 2012, followed by a series of releases such as the recent collaboration ‘Heartbreak’ with Bonobo and ‘Unfold’ alongside Porter Robinson.
A joint DFTD debut from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Redlight who come together on ‘Regulate’, a headsy cut combining their club experience and production skills. With a chugging bassline, ascending synth lines and steady percussion, a vocal adds a hypnotic quality to the record that aims to stay with you beyond the dancefloor.
Bonobo and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ ‘Heartbreak’ is an ode to one of electronic music’s formative scenes: NYC’s disco revolution of the 1970s and ’80s. It’s a scene that was hugely influential on a young Kerri Chandler, and was an important precursor in the house music of which he would go on to be a formative figure.
