Tuscany-born, Barcelona-based Marco Faraone runs the Uncage label and event series, where he showcases the breadth and depth of his tastes. Returning to Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint after multiple appearances on the label, ‘Any Good Vibe?’ sees Faraone bring another EP of techno.
Following the recent ‘Strobe Queen’ and ‘Wild Life’ releases, Radio Slave continues with his releases. Revisiting his love of lower tempos and long but engaging arrangements, the Rekids boss further explores his love of house and disco sounds that proliferated his early work on ‘Wake Up’, an NY-inspired cut.
Radio Slave recently dropped his new single ‘Don't You Know’ this month on Rekids as part of the ‘House of Rekids’ compilation. On this single he enters house mode, employing vocal snippets, chunky drum hits, and filtered synths to effect across the deep 9-minute track.
The third and final entry in a three-part release series based on his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 3’ for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him drop yet another set of tracks. Leading the A-side, ‘PSS480’ combines swinging drums, modulated low end, and trippy bleeps for a house track.
Josh Wink is responsible for many electronic tracks, including ‘Higher State Of Consciousness’, ‘Don’t Laugh’ and ‘How's Your Evening So Far?’. The Ovum Recordings boss also recently released his first solo effort for Radio Slave’s Rekids.
The second entry in a three-part series of music based around his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 2’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint sees the house artist deliver another selection of productions.
Following the release of ‘Acid Dip’ in October, Matt Edwards, aka Radio Slave, revisits the single, introducing a stomping 4/4 pattern and 303 acid lines atop elements of the original. One of the final releases on Rekids for 2021, the label boss rounds out the year for the label, which has seen albums and EPs from Joaquin Claussell, Mark Broom, Robert Hood, Ian Pooley, and many others.
Radio Slave returned to his Rekids imprint this month with the ‘Acid Dip’ single. Riding a broken, stuttered-kick rhythm, the track is a jabbing, insistent slice of UK techno shot through with hardcore and, whilst not skimping on raw power, still maintains the hypnotic nature that inhabits much of Edwards’ work.
UK techno artist Mark Broom releases his ‘Fast Fünfzig EP’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids this month, ahead of a full LP for the label in July. Mark’s discography shows an artist who has put in the hours, with appearances on imprints such as Robert Hood’s M-Plant, Warp Records, Pure Plastic, Bpitch Control, and of course Rekids.
Spencer Parker returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘The Theme’ EP, possibly the DJ/producer’s most distinctive single to date. Comprising three originals and a remix from Pink Concrete, the EP sees the Berlin-based Brit delve further into his ‘80s new wave influences hinted at in his recent ‘The Love And Sex’ EP for HE.SHE.THEY.
