Nu Groove spotlights the artists that made the NYC label a firm favourite of crate diggers then and now with a series of their tracks re-edited by industry figures and choice selectors of today.
Chicago native and house music artist Ron Carroll makes his Nu Groove debut with a two-track EP titled ‘House Of Love’. A part of the scene since the early-90s, often regarded as the golden era of house, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including Louie Vega, CeCe Peniston and Hardsoul to name a few.
British DJ/producer Bushwacka lands on Nu Groove with a four-track EP, ‘House Sound Vol. 1’, that demonstrates his production skills. A member of the Rat Pack rave outfit, his impact on the underground scene of the ‘90s was noticeable and together with fellow Brit Layo Paskin, the pair created compositions that highlighted the sound of house and techno, blending the two genres.
Mike Dunn returns to NYC label Nu Groove with three originals that bring together disparate influences from his encyclopaedic knowledge of genre and style. What results are productions that can possibly only be achieved through the lived experiences of a four-decade career.
Nu Groove continues to release house music with its latest package from Acid Jerks, maintaining the level of production exhibited in its earlier releases.
New York house label Nu Groove will release new music for the first time in almost 30 years this March. Debuting with a special 12”, NYC DJ/producer Jovonn and Swiss Character Records boss Deetron will be the first to release on the refreshed label, with Defected Records overseeing the new era of the label, since acquiring the catalogue in 2017.
