The three-day boutique music and arts festival, Goat, due to be held in Goa from 27-29 January will feature handpicked acts from all over the world and India, and from various soundscapes. The intimate festival that seeks to position itself at the confluence of contemporary and traditional, between East and West, aims to introduce and showcase a side of India rarely seen by international travellers and curate a multi-sensory, immersive experience unknown to many Indians.

Decadence NYE is Arizona’s first two-day New Year’s Eve celebration and takes place on 30 & 31 December 2016, at Rawhide Western Town & Event Center. Presented by Relentless Beats and Global Dance, the third annual event has previously featured such acts as: Above & Beyond; Adventure Club; Borgore; Crizzly; Flosstradamus; Jack Ü; Kaskade; Knife Party; ODESZA; Pretty Lights; and Seven Lions, amongst others.

Paul van Dyk managed to release some big trance tracks in 2016, including his remix with Alex M.O.R.P.H. on ‘We Are’. This month, with ‘Everyone Needs Love’, PvD returns for his last musical dispatch of the year. Markus Schulz's Dakota alter-ego is set to return, presenting ‘The Nine Skies’; a concept debuting in 2017. Describing to media that Dakota is his "darker", “moodier", “techno-inspired alias", ‘The Nine Skies’ will signify his third major adventure under the alias, which started with ‘Thoughts Become Things’ in 2009 and ‘Thoughts Become Things II’ in 2011.

The opening Defected Croatia festival apparently set the benchmark high but the brand looks set to raise it even further. In August 2017 once again there will be an array of house DJs, disco icons and underground artists playing through the day and into the night for six days of top music.
