With over two decades of experience in the electronic music scene, Clarisse Records label head Mendo has been releasing his groove-led sound across labels like Knee Deep In Sound, Crosstown Rebels, and Defected.
Previously appearing on Jones’ label for remix duties for Danny Tenaglia’s ‘Don't Turn Your Back’, the Geneva-based DJ/producer now returns alongside fellow Swiss artist Yvan Genkins for their first collaboration in seven years.
The pair combine Mendo’s warmth and emotive precision with Yvan’s raw, punchy energy to deliver their latest EP, ‘Everybody’, landing on Hot Creations.
‘Everybody’ opens the release with deep, funk-laced strings, percussion, and kicks that set the stage for a possible rousing club track.
‘Chakaboo’ then takes over with rumbling bass frequencies, enhanced by a modular flair, rolling hi-hats, and tricky, shifting rhythms.
To close, ‘My Precious’ explores a more textured sound, weaving together layered drum kicks and synth stabs over an upbeat house groove.
