Kölsch delivers a remix of the Morten and Artbat track ‘Hollow’ featuring Bonn, which is out now on Insomniac Records. Where the original focused on synthesisers, he supports the lyrical messages with piano chords, demonstrating the wide range of emotions found within Bonn’s songwriting.
The original has apparently amassed well over 5 million streams to date, and garnered press coverage from DJ Mag Latinoamerica, DJ Mag France, EDM.com, We Rave You, CULTR, We Rave You, EDM Tunes. It also found its way into a host of radio shows fronted by Armin van Buuren, Yotto, Korolova, Above & Beyond, and Tiësto, to name a few.
Kölsch has a longstanding history with both Morten and Artbat and last year the roles were reversed when Artbat remixed Kölsch’s track, ‘All That Matters’ into a techno symphony complete with synthetic flourishes. In the case of Morten, he and Kölsch have been friends for well over 20 years.
This latest remix caps off a big year for him. After heading into 2024 on the heels of ‘I Talk To Water,’ his fifth album on Kompakt, the Dutch-based artist of half-German and half-Irish descent released ‘Heartless’, a single with the live/electronic outfit WhoMadeWho, while also remixing artists such as Brazil’s Vintage Culture. These two new offerings add to his catalogue that includes entries on labels such as Drumcode, Afterlife, and Crosstown Rebels.
