Interstellar Recordings - Insomniac Records’ home for melodic house and techno - have just released the new double single ‘Viking / Magma’ from Ukraine-based producer and live act 8Kays (aka Iryna Shvydka). She makes her debut on the imprint with this new two-track offering. 

The lead track finds her enlisting the vocals Aussie-born, Germany-based singer/songwriter Kyle Pearce, a multi-platinum singer known for his work alongside Vintage Culture, Tube & Berger and  Klangkarussell. 

‘Viking’ balances Pearce's vocal delivery with a melodic techno groove, imbued with a sense of grandiosity via rhythm, atmospherics, bassline pulses, and synth leads. 

On the B-side, ‘Magma’ takes its position as the counterpart, a melodic techno instrumental propelled along by dark drums, basslines and melodies that are met with by pads, acid licks and call-and-response. 

8Kays has appeared at festivals and club venues from the likes of EDC Las Vegas, OffWeek, Printworks, Watergate, De Marktkantine, and SOHO. She's enjoyed support from figures such as Adriatique, Miss Monique, Fideles, Yotto, Korolova, John Digweed, Gorgon City, Ida Engberg and CamelPhat. 

8Kays: “‘Viking’ is one of the tracks I like the most from my recent productions. I do find it inherent to the sound I want to pursue: melodic, sensual and effective. Magma' is all about power, which I wanted to demonstrate in the track. The volcano was my first idea when I heard the track with my eyes closed, it resonated at the sound/meaning level for me.”

She’s also had released on labels such as Afterlife, Renaissance Records, Booka Shade’s Blaufiield Music imprint, Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats, and Eleatics Records.
