Canadian producers Return Of The Jaded and Martin Villeneuve have been part of the dance music scene for decades. Now they have teamed up to revisit Martin’s rendition of Styx’s ‘Mr. Roboto’, which reached Beatport #1 in 2006, and is out now on Jaded Recordings.
For the remix, they incorporate a selection of digital synths, before introducing the original’s chopped vocals. Calling upon undulating synth patterns across driving basslines, this creation twists and turns, bringing the record into a modern dimension while staying true to its essence.
Return Of The Jaded | Martin Villeneuve: “Revisiting 'Mr. Roboto' was an opportunity to merge past, present and future, blending the nostalgia of an iconic track with today’s production capabilities. We wanted to stay true to the spirit of the original while giving it a fresh, electrifying edge that resonates with both long-time fans and new listeners. This rework encapsulates our shared passion for pushing sonic boundaries, and we couldn't be more excited to see how it connects on dancefloors around the world.”
Canadian producer Return Of The Jaded has received support from Pete Tong, Nora En Pure, Afrojack, Alesso, Noizu, and many more. His originals have charted number one on Beatport over eight times, with appearances on labels such as Purified, Techne, Repopulate Mars, Spinnin’ Deep, Sink or Swim, and more.
