At last week's 2024 Amsterdam Dance Event, Dutch music promotion and distribution platform Collabhouse unveiled its new arm, the Collabhouse Pre-Cleared Artist Music Library. Powered by AI music discovery technology, it unlocks the vast potential of micro-syncing, enabling smaller, more flexible collaborations to be struck between music producers and content creators, brands, and agencies.
With independent artists and smaller brands traditionally frozen out of lucrative licensing deals – which can be both incredibly complex and costly – the move aims to be an industry gamechanger.
Benefits to music producers – aside from financial – include being able to expose new audiences to their work, often in markets and on media not usually available to them.
Collabhouse Founder Eelko van Kooten: “Collabhouse is dedicated to empowering music creators with the tools they need to control their own careers and our revamped music library is the perfect example of that vision in action.”
With transparent, affordable, globally pre-cleared licenses, the Pre-Cleared Artist Music Library is also relevant for entities on the other end of the sync equation: independent filmmakers, ad and brand agencies, gaming companies, app designers, influencers, YouTubers, podcast, radio and TV studios, and more.
Perhaps most exciting for creators is the platform’s planned Automated Sync feature. Audio tracks are automatically synced to visual media using AI-driven software and algorithms, matching tempo, mood, or user-specified elements of music to video. The feature will prove especially useful for platforms that generate large bodies of content at speed and scale.
Other AI implementations scheduled to roll out over the coming weeks include: AI Similarity Search (suggesting songs based on sound, vibe, and era); AI Recommendations (offering music tailored to your input and video); and Free Text Search (discover music by turning entire paragraphs into matching tracks).
