Barry Can’t Swim recently announced his biggest North American tour to date for Spring 2025, with stops in New York, Toronto, San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles. The announcement arrives after a big 2024 for the Edinburgh-born musician, who recently released his new single ‘Still Riding’, built around a sample from Colombian-American R&B/pop artist Kali Uchis’ 2015 single ‘Ridin Round’.
His debut album ‘When Will We Land?’, released October 2023 on Ninja Tune, was shortlisted for the 2024 Mercury Music Prize alongside the likes of Charli XCX, Beth Gibbons, English Teacher, Ghetts and The Last Dinner Party. Barry now sits among Aphex Twin, Nia Archives, Burial, Jamie XX, Fred again.. and Jon Hopkins as a rare solo electronic artist to be shortlisted for the award.
Upon its release, the album landed a top 15 UK album chart position and number 1 in the Dance album charts and was voted as Radio 1’s Dance Album of the Year. Currently on over 100M album streams, it also received praise from the likes of Mixmag, DJ Mag, The Times, Evening Standard, NME, Billboard, Clash, The Guardian and Rolling Stone (who featured Barry on their cover as part of their ‘Future of Music’ coverage).
