Montreal-based DJ, remixer, and sound engineer Mitch Oliver is part of the melodic house movement. With over two million Spotify streams, he is on a mission to spread positive vibes and unite people through his music, which has been released on labels such as Glasgow Underground, Kindisch, and TrybesOf.
Blending subtle and sophisticated sounds with impactful grooves, he has played at events such as Burning Man and SXM Festival, as well as clubs across Europe, North and South America.
Recently, he made history with a performance at the International de Montgolfières festival in Quebec, becoming the first DJ to play inside a hot air balloon at the event. His track ‘Out of Space’ was part of this set, aiming to add an otherworldly dimension to the performance.
The track has twinkling keys while spoken words - recorded and pitched down by Mitch himself - aim to add layers of thoughtfulness. The bassline powers the whole experience, and the melody, which he composed early in the creative process, weaves its way through the entire song. This melody, paired with a groove, infuses the track with a vibe contrasting its melancholic theme.
