Berlin-based Lovebirds return on Glitterbox Recordings with their second original label outing ‘Shut The Lights Out’, featuring vocals from Nile and a remix from Birdee. Lovebirds are possibly regarded for their colourful ‘70s and ‘80s inspired productions, adding to the label’s jazz, funk, soul and disco with the previous outing ‘Burn It Down’.
Now they unveil the funk-and-groove-laden ‘Shut The Lights Out’, featuring London-based singer-songwriter Nile, an artist who has accompanied the likes of Jessie Ware, Kylie Minogue and Olly Alexander.
Together, the artists create a throwback feel, with a funky beat bolstered by disco instrumentation, synth work and Nile’s spoken word. Birdee then takes the original and adds their disco touch, creating an upbeat and spacey remix for the floor.
‘Shut The Lights Out’ is out on 19 April.
