Producer and label boss Ceri steps into 2024 with a brand-new EP ‘Can’t Pay My Bills”, which is out 1 March on her own label Find Your Own Records. Tested out at Heidegluhen and Panorama Bar, the EP will be available on vinyl featuring two exclusive vinyl-only remixes from D’Julz, with Ceri’s original tracks to be released digitally later this summer.
Ceri: “The title track is inspired by the current economic situation in the world, and features a positive message, reflecting the origins of house music and vogueing, to reinforcing the belief that we can overcome our circumstances and improve our situation, when we unite for the love of music.”
The new four-track vinyl EP has Chicago and Detroit jackin’ house influences, with a sprinkle of UK breakbeat. Lead track 'Can't Pay My Bills' takes inspiration from the current economic climate, offering a positive message of hope. D'Julz offers two vinyl-only remixes and contributes to the label’s ongoing message of artist authenticity and collaboration.
Ceri: “I have collected D'Julz’s music for many years, his label started around the same time I started DJing, and it was and still is, one of the few labels I buy on sight. I know it will always be quality. Something I aspire to be with my label too.”
As an artist-led label 'Find Your Own Records’ has become a home for house artists Mr G, Fred P, Alex Arnout and has gained support from platforms like Mixmag, Resident Advisor, BBC Radio 1, BB6Music and BBC1Xtra. Artists supporting Ceri’s sound include Midland, Ben UFO, Kerri Chandler, Move D, Jeremey Underground, Tristan Da Cunha and more.
As a DJ Ceri has performed sets at Fabric, Corsica Studios, Pikes Ibiza, Thisishaven, and recently made her debut at Panorama Bar/Berghain.
