Spencer Parker’s latest track, ‘To The Edge’ is as simple as it is effective, with its groove underpinning its riff and vocal. Paired back and Euro-influenced, the track is from a DJ/producer who has grown his profile by turning his hand to a myriad of disco, house and techno styles.
A secret weapon in Parker and Topping’s sets for the past few years, the track has had an even longer gestation period that traces back to Parker’s London record shop trawls in the nineties.
Spencer Parker: “I remember buying Hand’s Burn’s ‘Good Shot’ at Plastic Fantastic (RIP) in Covent Garden in late 1997. The riff would occasionally pop back into my head as an idea to base something around, but after rediscovering my (battered) copy in 2018, I decided to get in the studio to work on a track straight away.”
‘To The Edge’ is out now on Trick.
