Arriving at a time to help those experiencing the post-summer blues, London-based producer Rosehip reveals his biggest release to-date in the shape of his five-track ‘Odyssey’ EP. The release aims to transport listeners into a realm of positivity, encouraging them to enter a meditative state through sonic tapestries.
Rosehip has apparently become synonymous with catchy hooks and ASMR-esque sound design, and this EP is no exception. Fusing different sounds and styles within the body of work, the EP combines elements of chillwave, electronica, lo-fi, electro-pop and future bass. Flowing across the five offerings, it articulates a late-summer-inspired journey filled with melodies and soundscapes.
Opening with ‘Amber’, Rosehip sets the tone with his original. Introducing his spoken vocals over a foundation of synths and instrumentation, this number joins previously released solo-offerings, including ‘Found’ and ‘Bloom’.
Featuring a selection of collaborations, including Yawn featuring Kali Says What and Nectar featuring Thpcmkr, this release marks the next step in his career. Showcasing his musical evolution as an independent artist, he presents an entirely original production to the forefront of the 2023 music landscape.
With an array of releases, including ‘Awake’, ‘Gold’ and ‘Sailors’, he boasts over 15 million streams on all DSPs, which led him to apparently becoming a household name in the chillwave, electronica and lo-fi music spaces.
Rosehip ‘Odyssey’ EP is out now on Xoji Records.
