Following his Bold Parade debut with ‘Flowers In The Dirt EP’ in the spring, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Paul McMahon (Crashdaddy / Bellcrash), is back with a selection of mellow and jazzy grooves on his new release, ‘Heat’. The title track features London’s Janessa J, who delivers a vocal over a NuSoul groove, and also comes with a trip hop style remix from Belfast artist Brién.
‘Sacrament’ is a jazzy laid-back affair with vocals from London’s Rose White that flow over a soundtrack garnished with brass. Bringing a Latin flavour to the EP is Brazil’s Bianca Amente, whose voice pirouettes around a percussive soundtrack made up of guitars, keys and brass performances on ‘Mar De Afeto’.
Bold Parade is the latest project from London based, Belfast born producer Paul McMahon, who has been making music for over 20 years under the name Crashdaddy. He has also worked with Mark Bell as part of the group Bellcrash. Together and separately with Mark, Paul has released through Sunshine Recordings, Seventh Sign, Illicit, Island Hopper and Freebooter Lounge, among others.
Paul’s sound combines beats with jazz styled musicians to blend modern production with classic rhythmic jazz overtones. After winning support from the likes of Craig Charles (BBC 6 Music) along with many jazz heads and sunset sound trackers in Ibiza with ‘Flowers In The Dirt EP’, Paul is now getting ready to reveal his first Bold Parade studio album.
‘Heat’ is released tomorrow on Suzume Recordings.
