Hailing the second release from Mark Knight’s new Fool’s Paradise label is ‘Make It Happen’ from Canadian producer, Hatiras. Cooking up a potential fusion of chic and sheer dancefloor fierceness, he delivers a playful disco house track adorned with strings, bass and teased with a soulful vocal hook.
Hatiras: “Last summer in Toronoto, Mark Knight and I got talking about how we both love the same music from the ‘80s and ‘90s including proper, old, truly soulful house music. I was inspired to create some music for his new Fool’s Paradise label. I dug through some of my old records and found a few perfect samples (fully cleared and licensed of course) - and came up with ‘Make It Happen’. I kept a lot of the classic house vibes, but added a bit of a wonky bassline, upbeat percussion and modern builds and arrangement. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.”
Hatiras is a two-time Juno Award winner and owner of Spacedisco Records. Since his hit record, ‘Spaced Invader’, on Defected Records in 2000, which was named Pete Tong's Essential new tune twice, he became an international touring artist. He has performed across the world, including seven times at Burning Man and Miami’s Ultra Music Festival.
As a producer, he has amassed a catalogue of over 500 releases, four artist albums, and has collaborated with artists including Low Steppa, Junior Sanchez, Kylie Minogue, Angelo Ferreri, DJ Dan, Sebb Junior, Bad Boy Bill and more. His music has been released on labels including Defected, Toolroom, Dirtybird, Simma Black, Afro Acid, Glasgow Underground, Universal Music and Sony.
