Scottish DJ and event curator La La steps into the world of production with her album ‘Give Yourself A Try’. The debut release includes 10 tracks spanning across jackin’ house, percussive club tools and oddball techno and it’s out now via her own label Brand New Records.
The release is the end result from years of musical exploration, hours behind a DJ booth and more hours on the dancefloor. Over 10-tracks she has crafted a mixtape of self-produced music via her newly found Scottish only record label.
On 15 June, alongside UK promoters LWE, she curated a secret party of guests including Radio & Rinse FM presenter Emerald to celebrate the newly found record label.
La La: “I am my biggest critic. That’s why this mixtape is called ‘Give Yourself A Try’ – you need to trust yourself, you need to ignore the fear and actually believe in yourself. This ended up being 10 tracks – it could have been more.”
Born and raised in Glasgow, she has appeared at clubs such as Warehouse Project, Printworks, Fabric, FLY Open Air and Sub Club. She cut her teeth into the circuit with a jackin’ house and party focused sound, apparently gaining a following from fans and DJs alike.
Her recent Mixmag live stream gained ‘over 300K views’.
