Soon after the release of his disco single ‘Call My Name’, Vancouver-based electronic producer Sleepy Tom shares his new single, ‘Time And Time Again’, which premiered on Dancing Astronaut and features the band Hotel Mira, via MNRK.
The producer previously collaborated with Diplo on the platinum-certified ‘Be Right There’ which reached #2 on the UK Dance charts, Top 10 in the UK Charts and #8 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic charts. He has also worked with other artists including Anna Lunoe, Grandtheft and LIGHTS as well as providing official remixes for Zeds Dead, Martin Solveig, Porter Robinson and Dillon Francis amongst others.
Sleepy Tom has worked with labels such as Spinnin’ Records, Fool’s Gold and Mad Decent and his video for ‘Seeing Double ft. Tonye’ won the Best Post-Production Award from iHeartRadio. He finds inspiration in the music he also listens to, citing artists like The Avalanches, Jungle, The Weeknd and Breakbot to name a few. In turn, this new track draws parallels to the works of Jungle, Purple Disco Machine and The Weeknd.
Featured alternative act Hotel Mira (formerly known as JPNGIRLS) is a Vancouver, Canada-based band. The group consists of Charlie Kerr (vocals and lyricist), Mike Noble (bassist), Clark Grieve (keyboardist), and Cole George (drummer).
Sleepy Tom: “Charlie and I met during our first writing session last fall. We seemed destined to work together at some point, since we shared a bizarre amount of social connections. I’m stoked to put this song out with him and Hotel Mira—it lives in this strange disco-punk world which feels nostalgic yet fresh.”
