VinylMatt Music drop their first release of 2022 with Sirrah & Eli James’s ‘Hold On’, backed up by a trio of remixes from Vanilla Ace, Narda and Dalston Lane. Eli and Sirrah came together through their passion for house music, Djing and beatmaking. Their sets, productions and personality has earned them bookings at several festivals and venues including Outlook Croatia, Bassfest, 02 Academy and XOYO.
Similarly, they have shared stages with artists such as Bicep, Skream, Low Steppa, Solardo and have already landed releases on labels such as Goodside, Houz, Deepfake and Wyldcard between them.
Having experimented with several underground genres, their ‘dancefloor ready’ track focuses specifically on uplifting piano chords coupled with a bassline and vocals reminiscent of the early-90s.
Vanilla Ace deploys his chunky drums and percussion for a techy version that still retains some of the soulful quality of the original. Narda’s remix is warm, uplifting and positive, while Dalston Lane completes the package with a rave-appropriate reimagining complete with synths and a hand-in-the-air piano line for the ages.
