Lou Hayter's original electro and dance-pop track 'Check It' has apparently done well since its release in September and now it gets reworked by Radio Slave. Matt Edwards has long been part of the underground scene from his base in Berlin with his Rekids label. He has already dropped two big EPs of his own this year and now serves up one of this remix packages.
The main remix is a slow-burning 13-minute track. It builds with echoing riffs ringing out over rolling drums and distant cosmic pads. There is plenty of room to get lost amongst the vocals and dubbed-out chords in the track. The dub is even more stripped back and primed for early evening warm-ups.
It's a cavernous affair that aims for the long-tailed pads and warming solar winds to draw you in. A shorter edit is included and distils everything down to four minutes. These tracks show a different side to Radio Slave and bring new life to Hayter’s ‘Check it’.
