Saint Punk has been playing his grunge house sound for quite some time now, but that doesn’t mean he shies away from exploring new sides to his productions. ‘Ghost Blood’ sees him collaborate with American pair MXMS and deliver a track that aims to set the bar high for all other tracks featured on his forthcoming album project.
In the making since Saint Punk reimagined MXMS’ 2019 track ‘Gravedigger’, the track ties the LA-based producer’s studio efforts to the innate musical creativity of the US duo. With vocals wandering through shadows and darkness as they hover atop the production, this is the kind of track that aims to grip listeners and not let go.
Saint Punk: “I first worked with MXMS back in 2019 when I remixed their single 'Gravedigger. We had always planned to work together in the future on an original Saint Punk tune. When the time came for the album, we knew it was the right timing.”
MXMS: “‘Ghost Blood’ is a story of two very close friends in the throes of tragedy. One is losing the desire to keep going; the other is not sure what she can do to help, but is trying her best. Many thanks to Saint Punk for taking their saga to the dancefloor.”
Born and bred in the heart of Los Angeles, Saint Punk started his music journey within the rock world before moving into the dance music space by 2018. He has since been cultivating his sound through official remixes for the likes of 3LAU, MXMS and BLVK JVCK, unofficial remixes for acts such as The Chainsmokers. Travis Scott, Kanye West and Nirvana, and a list of artist support that includes names such as David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Morgan Page and Steve Aoki.
