Undisputed Music welcomes producer Todd Edwards to its roster, who steps up to deliver his latest house cut. Todd has had a musical career spanning over 25 years and his technique of using a hypnotic collage of cut-up samples over swung beats and disco-flavoured basslines saw him being credited as one of the ‘Godfathers of UK Garage’. A succession of releases followed over the years, each track highlighting his production style.
In addition to his own productions, Todd has remixed artists like phoenix, Wiley, Justice, Matthew Dear, Hot Chip, Wilkinson, Klaxons, Jess Glynne & Jax Jones, St. Germain, Mella Dee, MJ Cole, Oliver Heldens and more, although he is perhaps best known for his collaborations with Daft Punk on the albums ‘Discovery’ and ‘Random Access Memories’.
Landing on new dance music imprint Undisputed Music, ‘The Chant’ is another cut built around soaring keys, a bassline and the hooky ‘chant’ of the title, another milestone in Todd’s career, and has already been championed by Annie Mac in her Radio 1 show.
Undisputed Music was founded by Tony Garvey and Marc Thomas, who share over two decades of experience between them. From currently running the UK electronic roster for management company, Red
Light, to many years within the walls of Island Records, Def Jam, Priority Records, MCA / Motown, AM:PM, Defected Records, Strictly Rhythm and Universal Music Publishing, they bring a wealth of
knowledge.
