Following on from the success of his track, ‘Cinema’, Benny Benassi has enlisted Swedish duo Galantis for a rework, after a decade since its release. With the original already having over 500m combined streams, as well as support from BBC Radio 1 and more, the track has still remained popular since it dropped in 2011.
Originally released via Ultra Records as part of Benny’s fourth studio album ‘Electroman’, the single’s EP went on to include remixes from Laidback Luke, Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney, Congo Rock, and a Skrillex rework, which went onto win a Grammy award.
Now putting their stamp on the original, Galantis add their remix. Their previous release, ‘Faith’, earnt Dolly Parton her first #1 on the Billboard Dance/electronic charts as well as #1 on Dance/Mixshow Airplay Chart.
In addition, ‘Pretty Please’ apparently saw 57k+ viewers join its YouTube premiere waiting room before going onto trend at #20 with 1.6M views (in just 12 hours) and hit #3 at Dance Radio. More recently, the duo released their album ‘Church’, which has already seen 365m streams on Spotify alone.
Benny said: “I love this remix! I love Galantis and I was really thrilled when they wanted to do it. Their remix is extremely fresh and I’m truly excited about ‘Cinema’ getting a new lease of life!”
Paying homage to the original, the duo weave in alternative version to the melody to compliment Gary Go’s vocals, adding their basslines and synths throughout.
