Saint Is release their second EP today on Frankey & Sandrino’s Sum Over Histories. The Argentinian duo aimed to harness their love for live performance, dreamy synths, emotive hooks and storytelling. Their second release on the label plays with the concepts of time and youth, passion and loss, using vocals from Juan Hansen to connect concepts and genres.
With the title track, Saint Is create an indie-pop tracks whereas Art Image’ combines siren-like synths with industrial overlays to build a narrative around impermanence, balance and urgency.
Berlin-based melodic-house producer Aera remixes ‘Dancing in the Rain’ featuring Sergi Yaro, and sprinkles his sound over the chugging, indie house track. With the rest of the EP, Saint Is hope to occupy a space for reflection, introspection and deep listening.
With ‘Before We Get Old’, the duo explore their creative depths both on and off the dancefloor and their use of analogue sounds combined with their instrumental training makes the EP an engaging listen.
Sum Over Histories is a label aimed at the conscious listener - ‘contemporary electronic music made for closed-eyed dancers.’ With releases from Invōker, Lazaros and Denis Horvat, the label ‘creates space for multi-instrumentalists and producers to explore their inner selves, creating introverted narratives that encourage profound listening for our minds, not just beats and rhythms for our bodies.’
