Martin Jensen was recently announced as a judge for the 2020 series of The X Factor in his native Denmark, apparently making him the first ever DJ/producer to hold the position, as well as the youngest judge the show has ever invited. Now entering its 14th season, Martin will be joining fellow DanesOh Land and jazz musician Thomas Blachman. Jensen has been responsible for tracks including ‘All I Wanna Do’, ‘Nobody’ with James Arthur and to co-writing hits with The Vamps, and he’s also collaborated with Jason Derulo.
From performing at London’s Wembley Stadium to over 70,000 people, to the main stage of Tomorrowland in Belgium and landing a placement in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll, he aims to bring his knowledge and personal investment to mentor the auditionees and artists.
Speaking on the experience Martin said: “It’s an amazing feeling to be part of this year’s X Factor that has created so many amazing artists and musicians over the years, not only in Denmark but worldwide. To be a guide and mentor for the self-taught artists out there who want to break into the industry is something I hope to give a fresh perspective on as I was in their shoes one day too. The music industry can be a daunting place but I really want to open doors for the next generation of talent and our next X Factor superstar!”
The new 'X Factor' season premieres in January 2021 on TV 2 in Denmark and clips will also be available shortly after broadcast via YouTube international.
