Klangkarussell have released a short film to accompany their latest single, ‘My World’. Based on an original idea from Tobi, and executive produced by him and Adrian, the 10 minute long music video is about looming ecological disaster and animal extinction, with the Austrian duo weaving in characters from European folklore into the story, including the Krampus, the woodchopper, and Pinocchio.
The female character (played by actress Valerie Huber) represents nature, the narrative of the video follows her through a natural landscape as she is hunted by the aforementioned characters – the woodchopper representing deforestation – leading to her ultimate demise on the forest floor. Intercut with this storyline are images of environmental destruction and endangered animal species. The film was directed by Christoffer Borggren and Tobi, with Matthew Rowean from Matte Projects as Creative Director.
Hot on the heels of recent single, ‘Shipwreck’, ‘My World’ (feat. Kyle Pearce), revisits environmental issues that Klangkarussell have previously touched upon in their songs. Now forming a two-track release, this package is the follow-up to the Austrian electronic music duo’s recent track, ‘Ghostkeeper’. Available via their Bias Beach imprint, it’s a vocal-led track with the melodic touches that have been Klangkarussell’s style since their tracks ‘Sonnentanz’, and ‘Time’.
