As a DJ/producer, Movada has co-written and produced for artists such as The Vamps and remixed for artists including MØ, Martin Solveig, The Him and Kodaline. Now for 2020, he gets set to take the stage in solo form with his debut release ‘Stay’.
Not much is known about the producer so far, but on ‘Stay’ he spins the sultry late-90s R&B hook of Blackstreet’s ‘Don’t Leave Me’ into modern, deeper tropical territory. Commencing with vibrations and a soulful vocal delivery on the release, the track evolves into deep, sunshine-ready house before a female top line enters into the mix, creating a push-and-pull delivery between the sexes that is punctuated with synth sounds, a key-heavy melody and finger snaps.
Merging all of these components together, the lyrics of “Stay right here with me forever” orbit around the track’s 4/4 beats for a new take on the genre for 2020.
It’s out now.
