Glitterbox will return with its third Virtual Festival tomorrow. The event is part of the ongoing Virtual Festival series from Defected Records, which has been ‘viewed by a combined total of nearly 13.5 million people since it began in March. During the seven streams, $714k has been raised for the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.’
The third Glitterbox Virtual Festival, streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Mixcloud Live, Twitter and Twitch, will feature DJ sets from The Shapeshifters, Nightmares On Wax, Kiddy Smile, Late Nite Tuff Guy, DJ KOCO, Michael Gray (Full Intention), DJ Pippi and DJ Paulette. Much like the club nights, it will also feature performances including a debut from Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winning Billy Porter, CHIC’s Kimberly Davis and DAVIE.
Linking up with Brooklyn nightclub House Of Yes, Glitterbox’s NYC home and modern day answer to Studio 54, the venue’s dancers will perform alongside the DJs, as well as two winners of the Glitterbox Dance For The World competition. The winners, fellow Londoners Amy and Freddy, will make their debut to viewers. Upon winning Amy said: “It is a privilege to be part of such a beautiful celebration of self-expression,” and Freddy said, “After experiencing the love in [Defected] Croatia last year, every single minute was amazing and this is just the cherry on top.”
