Goldfrapp recently released the video for their current single ‘Ocean’. Directed by Alison Goldfrapp, the clip is another addition to the band’s portfolio of work and arrives ahead of the release of a deluxe edition of their top ten, 2017 album ‘Silver Eye’, which is released on 6 July. Alison returned to Fuerteventura, where the videos for ‘Anymore’ and ‘Everything Is Never Enough’ were shot to film her scenes, whilst she directed Dave in Madrid, during a break in Depeche Mode’s current world tour.
Speaking about the video for ‘Ocean’, Alison explains:
"I had an amazing time directing Dave in the video for the track and we couldn’t be happier with the end result."
Upon its initial release in March 2017, ‘Silver Eye’ charted at number 6 on the UK album chart. Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory of the band made the record in collaboration with John Congleton, the Grammy winning producer of St. Vincent, John Grant and Wild Beasts. They also worked with Bobby Krlic, aka the Haxan Cloak and Brian Eno collaborator Leo Abrahams on the album.
Goldfrapp will be heading out for a number of live dates this summer, to coincide with the release of the album. The band will be playing at British Summer Time festival with The Cure in London on 7 July, as well as at Standon Calling and Deer Shed Festival.
‘Silver Eye: Deluxe Edition’ is a two-disc set featuring new artwork and a bonus disc of remixes and alternate versions, including a previously unreleased remix of ‘Anymore’ from the band’s Will Gregory.
