The Playground returns to Electric Brixton on Friday 23 June and headlining will be Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo aka The Bloody Beetroots with a brand new live performance running until the late hours of the morning with guest artists to be announced.
Sir Bob is about to showcase his new live show across Europe in 2017, after a hiatus and a sabbatical from live performing, and is coming back to his European roots for a string of shows, with Electric Brixton his London destination. This will see the The Bloody Beetroots - live at full throttle!
Making its debut in Australia earlier this year and headlining the Boiler Room for the Big Day Out, this will be Europe’s exclusive preview into the new world of The Bloody Beetroots and a chance to experience the new album before its release later this year.
From the start, Sir Bob was capable of synergising sonics and sensibilities from The Damned to Debussy, the wistfulness of new wave and primal screams of hardcore punk, into actualised efforts that became platforms for larger socio-political historiography and cultural histrionics.
Possibly one of the most eclectic artists signed to Ultra Records/Dim Mak Records in America The Playground will be hosting the electronica project to come out of Italy.
