A new-school artist for D&B straight out of South London, Mark Wilkinson’s productions and remixes are proving popular. Lush, melodic and emotional, his tunes have possible cross-over appeal: he dips into the realm of pop rock while still going in with hard ‘n’ fast beats and drops. Collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Katy B have further secured his pop crossover appeal, while his work with Nero, Chase & Status, and Naughty Boy have cemented his legitimacy in the D&B scene.
As a teenager Wilkinson carved out his way with releases on Hospital Records, before being handpicked by Andy C to join Andy’s RAM Records (Virgin / EMI) label.
He’s already made the label proud with several club tracks, including ‘Afterglow’, which charted in the Top 5 on the UK Charts, sold 400,000 copies and snagged 39 million Youtube views with a
video (which detail a couple's five years of dating via numerous statistics) - and his recent debut album ‘Lazers Not Included’, went to #1 on the iTunes Dance chart in ten countries.
He is a regular at festivals like Glastonbury, Wireless, Reading, Leeds, and EDC Vegas, and has a sold-out debut UK live tour under his belt too. Annie Mac and Zane Lowe have been singing his praises and premiering his tracks since day dot and he recently scooped the pool at the UK National Drum & Bass Awards, taking home gongs for ‘Best Single’, ‘Best Album’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best Producer’ and ‘Best Live Act'.
Wilkinson: “After my album and Afterglow dropped, the shows have been really packed and there’s a great atmosphere out there. I’ll be representing my album, but also playing my favourite tunes from the wider D&B genre. I’m getting my party set going. I’ll also be trying out some new music that isn’t out there yet, and road-testing that.”
