Following the success of Robert Dietz & Tuccillo’s ‘Kushtraxx’ EP which saw support from the likes of The Revenge, Doc Martin, DJ Sneak, Matthias Tanzmann & Sebo K, the Berlin-based Holic Trax imprint returns this November with the UK’s Burnski and four punchy originals.
Since bursting onto the scene in 2005 James Burnham aka Burnski has been making waves ever since with a back-catalogue of work that runs across labels such as Real Tone, Saved, 2020 Vision, Poker
Flat & Hot Creations to name a few.
‘The Hours’ EP is another god release from Burnham, dishing up four deep house cuts peppered with Detroit and Chicago influences.
EP opener and title track ‘The Hours’ is a no-nonsense beat down worked over thumping bass and shifting percussion while ‘Visions’ is a gritty off kilter cut that bubbles over rippling drums,
oscillating tones and recurring vocals.
On the B-side ‘Movement’ is a groovy record cultivated over thrashing bass, stripped-back drums and arpeggiated chords. For final offering Burnksi laces the soulful vocals of Beckford over the
frisky rhythms and infectious groove of ‘Time’ to finish things off.
‘The Hours’ EP is out on Holic Trax on 24 November.
