The broad output of Hi-Phi Music continues apace here with a debut EP from newcomer Konflicted Soul. Hailing from the Midlands in the UK, Konflicted Soul is a fast rising producer that here delivers three cuts, each one a fresh and contemporary offering with a slightly different stylistic bent that showcases his range of skills.
Made using Logic, Arturia vintage synths, Lexicon reverbs and waves plugins, things kick off with ‘Feel Mine’, a textured house cut with a bubbling bassline, nice louche percussion and vocal samples that really set things off.
Next up is ‘Hot Shit’, a more sprawling and loose-limbed affair with dark male vocals, rattling drums and another bassline that rides up and down the scales slowly. Last up is ‘One & Other’,which ups the ante with more silvery and slinky percussive patterns, more urgent drums and trippy synth patterns. Vocals feature once again as another piece of the overall picture, but it’s the rich one note bassline that stands out.
It’s out now, check it out below.
