London-based Polaroid 85 combine haunting vocals, deep bass, intricate orchestral layers and glitchy samples to create downtempo, cinematic music. Their soulful, piano-led compositions feature elements of trip hop, liquid D&B, broken-beat, world, classical, folk and jazz. Their live show seem to have been kicking off a storm recently, with a buzz surrounding all their appearances.
An impressive gig list under their belt has seen them packing out London venues like XOYO, The Hootenanny (Brixton), Passing Clouds and The Bedroom Bar; supporting artists such as Hidden Orchestra, DJ Vadim, Anchorsong and Trojan Soundsystem. They also appeared at last year’s Beach Break Live, Green Man and Shambala festivals and have been gaining heavy support from the likes of Soundcrash Music, Chai Wallahs, Playgroup Festival, Wormfood, Elysian project and Nerm and Tom Robinson of BBC 6Music. Tge groupcurrently also have one demo EP, ‘Fuzzy Mornings EP’ downloadable for free from http://www.polaroid85.com. Their second EP is due for release soon.
