Rising star D’Steph is fast approaching the big time with her unique European production twist on deep house and breakbeat and her infectious DJ shows with her MC, JNM. Already well known in her native Belgium for her resident slots at clubs like Café D’Anvers and Club Geluk she has been a regular fixture behind the decks at the legendary FUSE, Kissinger and Petrol clubs and rocked the stage at massive festivals like Pukkelpop, I Love Techno and Ten days Off.
When not on the decks, she is completing her studies as a media student meaning she gets the chance to come up with concept videos like the one for ‘Remedy’ (below), directed by Bart Callaerts, who featured as a vocalist on the last D’Steph EP. Remixes on ‘Remedy’ come courtesy of Makossa & Megablast, two of the most exciting producers to emerge from Kruder & Dorfmeister’s G-Stone label, who take the vibe back to a ‘90s garage jam. Also throwing in a rewind style-wise is emerging UK producer, Breakz, whose remixes are clearly influence by early hardcore and jungle tunes and have been gaining him a serious online following. This is one of his first official remixes but a clear indication that he may possibly be one to watch. Bristol bass do, Parker, completes the set with a stuttering and growling bass house offering. Out 9th July on Jalapeno Records. Grab a free remix of 'Rude Gal' below.
