As MJC’s star continues to rise, it’s fair to say that as well as her original productions, Maya's remixing abilities have not gone unnoticed. Remixing for labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, Defected and Real Tone within the house scene as well as spreading her genred wings to put her own spin on tracks by Little Dragon, Tricky, The Orb, Lianne La Havas and Bo Saris amongst others, now she adds her touch to Florence Welch’s new single ‘Spectrum’.
At only 24, Maya has added the international release of her first compilation, for K7's DJ Kicks series on 16th April, to her ever growing list of achievements, awards and air miles. Joining the voices of supporters as varied as Anja Schneider to Damon Alburn to Tricky; Maya recently scooped 'Best House/Garage/Deep House' track at the Miami Winter Music Conference and 'Staff Pick: Artist of the year 2011' at the Beatport Awards to join her other accomplishments including DJ Mag's ‘Producer of the Year 2011′, Mixmag's ‘Best Breakthrough DJ 2011′, ‘Best Newcomer 2011′ at the Ibiza DJ Awards 2011, 'five Best New Artists for April' in Spin, FACT's 'Female Artist 2011', even British Vogue's 'Single of the Week' (!) and of course debuting at No. 9 on the Resident Advisor ’2011 DJ Poll’.
