People Get Real

Startalk International, the imprint set up by Hiem duo David Boswell and Nicco Eastwood, teams up with People Get Real for a new single featuring remixes from Voytek, Pedramovich and Carreno is LB. People Get Real is the name adopted by DJ/production duo Simon Lister and Peter Wilson and musical collaborator/producer John-Paul Denton. They have been working together for the last decade spreading their musical message with residencies at Wax:on in Leeds and Newcastle, guest spots at leading events and festivals around the world and a string of singles, mixes and an album on their own PGR imprint.

Now the Newcastle natives are teaming up with Sheffield label Startalk International for a brand new single featuring the vocal talents of RJW. The package kicks off with the original version of ‘Fascination’, a tough and menacing slice of techno fuelled electronica that draws on dark FX and rolling drums to provide the basis for RJW’s twisted and haunting vocal performance, quality stuff! The first of the remixes come from My Favorite Robot man Voytek who delivers a deep and hypnotic version that brings the bass to the fore and gives the vocals a distant, spacy feel that works brilliantly. The penultimate mix sees Sheffield producer Pedramovich take the reins and turn in a deep reworking that maintains the intensity but with a more house focused sound. Finally, Spanish new kid on the block Carreno is LB drops a bass heavy and wonky version of ‘Fascination’. Out 2^nd July.
