Following their ‘Worry’ EP released in December, Little Comets are set to return to the fold with new single ‘Jennifer’, released on June 11th through Dirty Hit Records. Intricately weaving trademark afro-beat rhythms, spikey indie guitars and heartfelt melodic vocals, ‘Jennifer‘ exudes the feeling of upbeat summer euphoria as lead singer Robert Coles delivers his frustrated plea to a lover.
This October, Little Comets kick off their tour in Manchester on October 16th and will then visit Edinburgh, Newcastle and Birmingham before stopping off in Bristol and finishing with their largest headline show to date at Koko in London. This July will see the band perform their biggest show to date in The Olympic Torch Relay celebrations at Hyde Park, thanks to Presenting Partner Coca Cola on July 26th. Sharing the bill with Dizzee Rascal, Friendly Fires and You Me At Six this will be one of the biggest shows of the year and just a day before the opening ceremony of the Olympics itself and will also headline the north east leg of the Olympic Torch relay tour.
Band members Robert, Michael and Matt found each other in inauspicious circumstances in a small greengrocers in Newcastle. They then went on to join and then fall out with a rather large record label before releasing their debut album ‘In Search Of The Elusive Little Comets’ which found success in the independent charts. Since then they have been touring and performing to sold out crowds across the country. For full tour dates, check out: www.littlecomets.com/
