Following up the J Daniel single ‘The Way’, Portuguese label Question of Time are back with the debut single from East London duo Tingle Town. Portugal’s Question of Time Records was one of the country’s leading electronic music labels in the ‘90s, now after an extended hiatus the imprint is back and causing a stir once again. Label boss J Daniel kicked off the reinvigorated label late last year with a brand new single and followed it up with a remix of his classic 1995 track ‘The Way’.
Tingle Town is East London duo Thomas Cook & Sponsor Wales, a pair who found each other on the dancefloor at Sonar a few years back and have spent the time since tinkering in the studio, working up their own unique take on the sounds of house and techno. The pair have developed a penchant for growling basslines, minimal house rhythms and rolling grooves all of which they have distilled here into their debut release. ‘Giggle’ opens up as a stripped back house cut, utilising understated drums and a monotone bassline to create a heads down groove before things heat up with twisted female vocals, swirling FX and a off kilter percussion that lead things into wonky warehouse territory. Out 12th June.
