Following the release of their free download EP, Helium Robots have shifted gear ready to release their debut album, ‘Voltopia’, and their first single, ‘Bring Drinking’, is released through This Is Music accompanied by a remix from Tuff City Kids.
Since 2007, Helium Robots has doubled in size, after the release of tracks ‘Metallic Dawn’ and ‘Long Lost’, with Lydia joining forces with Ewan to add another depth to their sound. Ewan and Lydia were both raised on a diet of pianos and brought together through a love of electronic music and you can immerse yourself in their instrumental fuelled tracks, elegantly layered with Lydia’s ethereal vocals. Tuff City Kids, aka Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer, could potentially be labeled a winning combination. With Gerd Janson heading up Running Back Records (home to the likes of Tensnake and Todd Terje) he picked up Helium Robots and commissioned Theo Parrish to remix their debut EP, ‘Jarza’. Out 16th May.
