South London label, Tall House Underground look to a brand new single from label co-owner Tim Nice backed with a package of remixes. Tim Nice has been part of the UK’s electronic music scene for the last two decades, DJing at events such as Miss Moneypennys, Ministry of Sound and Hanover Grand in the ‘90s, guesting at major festivals in the UK and across Europe and releasing music on labels including Bonzai Fiesta and Fortified Recordings. In 2010 Tim joined forces with fellow DJ/producer and long time friend Paul Parsons to launch the Tall House Digital and Tall House Underground labels. Tall House Underground was set up with a view to releasing, as the name would suggest, underground house cuts from up & coming artists as well as seasoned producers such as Tim and Paul themselves.
Tim’s latest musical offering is the excellent ‘Fly By’, a title that refers not to some aerial salute but rather a nostalgic acknowledgement of how quickly time has passed at the hear of acid house. The release springs open with the original version, a taught and techy house cut with a bumping off beat bassline and locked in groove that provides the base for subtle keys and the vocal incantation “House Music, the hippest, coolest, underground music in the world”. The original is complimented by three remixes; the first from Tom Laws (Phobiq, Rekluse) takes things into deep techno territory, the second from label co-owner Paul Parsons heads straight for the floor with a superb percussive tech house workout and the third from Kimeko (Piso / Mimosa) journeys into the realms of stripped and minimal house to finish things perfectly. Out 20th April.
